PSL organisers contact foreign players for remaining matches of tournament 

The organisers of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have started contacting international players for holding the remaining eight matches of the tournament, which had to be suspended due to a war between India and Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday. 

Sources told the 24News TV channel that the organisers had started approaching international players to see whether they would be available for the remaining matches of the event.

It would be on the basis of the availability of these players that the remaining matches' schedule would be prepared.

Sources informed that it would also be ensured while preparing the schedule that the remaining matches of the tournament did not coincide with any international series.

The final approval of the schedule would be given by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Naqvi.  

Earlier, giving the reason for the suspension of the tournament, the PCB had said that the "worsening of the situation" at the Pakistan-India border was to blame for the decision, saying the board had acted on advice from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The Board said it had "sincere regard for the mental well-being of participating players and the sentiments of our foreign players. And we respect the concerns of their families who want to see them back home."
