Mohsin Naqvi issues directives for smooth functioning of National Police Academy

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday visited National Police Academy (NPA) and chaired a meeting to review work on different projects, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Mohsin Naqvi reviewed the ongoing work on a multi-storey hostel under construction at National Police Academy.

The Interior Minister also inspected the model room set up in the hostel and instructed to further improve it.

He gave the task to complete the Elite Police Training School project by May 31.

Mohsin Naqvi said from this year, elite training of officers will be conducted in NPA instead of provinces. 

The Interior Minister directed installation of solar system in the academy. Mohsin Naqvi instructed for renovation of the existing building of the academy.

The meeting decided to build three new classrooms for modern training equipped with IT facilities.

Mohsin Naqvi directed to provide training through drones, night vision and modern weapons.

Promotional courses should be developed on modern lines and focus on service delivery, Mohsin Naqvi directed.

Mohsin Naqvi also directed establishment of driving school in NPA and officers will be trained in modern driving and car skills at the school.

Mohsin Naqvi instructed that crime scene rooms should be established to further improve investigative capabilities. 

The Interior Minister directed establishment of paddle tennis courts in the academy. Mohsin Naqvi also inspected the sports complex, gym and swimming pool. He ordered to upgrade the sports complex on modern grounds.

Commandant National Police Academy Saad Akhtar Bharwana gave a detailed briefing to the Interior Minister regarding the progress of the projects.

Director General FIA Dr Usman Anwar, IG Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
