Over 40 booked in connection with Steel Mills ex-employees protest case
An FIR has been registered against over 40 people in Karachi, including leaders of a political party Mir Abbas Talpur and Rao Safdar, on the complaint of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) security guard Muneer in connection with the protest by sacked employees of the steel mills, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
All Trade Union Alliance Deputy Convener Dhani Bux Samu has also been nominated in the case.
As per the text of the FIR, the protestors stopped the PSM CEO Asad Islam Mahni from coming outside and kept chanting slogans.
Several sections have been inserted in the FIR.
Police have said that raids are being conducted for the arrest of the suspects.
Police and Rangers pounced upon the protestors, who held a sit-in outside the guesthouse for more than 15 hours, and baton-charged them due to which several of them were injured.
Police also resorted to aerial firing which spread panic among the protestors.
Later, the protestors ended their sit-in for the time being.
