Pakistan reaffirms commitment to strengthening ties with Iran

An inter-ministerial meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar was held to review and advance Pakistan’s relations with Iran, focusing on enhancing economic and trade cooperation between the two neighbouring and brotherly countries.

According to Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi, the meeting discussed in detail ways to strengthen bilateral collaboration in various sectors, with a particular emphasis on boosting trade and economic engagement.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar underscored Pakistan’s firm commitment to deepening ties with Iran and making cooperation between the two countries more effective and result-oriented. He highlighted the importance of sustained engagement to unlock the full potential of bilateral trade and regional connectivity.

The meeting reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further broaden cooperation with Iran in energy, infrastructure, border management, and people-to-people exchanges, in line with the shared vision of regional stability and prosperity.

The session was attended by Minister for Petroleum, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Special Assistant Jahanzeb Khan, Foreign Secretary Amina Baloch, and senior officials from relevant ministries.

The deliberations reflect Pakistan’s proactive approach to strengthening partnerships with neighbouring countries and fostering mutually beneficial regional cooperation rooted in shared history, culture, and economic interests.
