Six important posts of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have been vacant posing problems for matters related to Security Division, Safe Cities and Operation Division, reported 24NewsHD TV channel quoting its sources.
The TV channel reported officers are not available for these six slots in ICT. Posts vacant include: DIG Security, DIG Safe City, SSP Security, SSP Operation, Additional SSP (Operations), Deputy Superintendent of Police (SDPO) Bara Kahu and Kohsar.
The appointments on these slots have become a challenge for the Islamabad Police, the TV channel reported.
Last month, the TV channel also reported Prime Minister Imran Khan’s order to appoint assistant superintendents of police (ASPs) as station house officers (SHOs) in the federal capital was yet to be implemented despite the passage of one year.
Keeping in view the ever-increasing public complaints, the prime minister directed for the appointment of ASPs as SHOs.
The Islamabad Police had so far been able to appoint only three ASPs in police stations but they were not performing the duties as SHOs. The police officials, when contacted by the TV channel, said not a single ASP was ready to work on a lower post.
