Former Member Customs son booked for smuggling drugs

The son of a former member of customs has been found involved in a drug smuggling case, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

According to details, MCC Exports Karachi submitted an interim-challan nominating Humair Qureshi s/o Munir Qureshi in the case of smuggling of Amphetamine (ICE).

The accused Humair Qureshi is the son of former Member Customs Munir Qureshi. Munir Qureshi during his term as Chief Collector was also allegedly involved in Afghan Transit cargo replacement and pilferage.

M/s. Qtinity electronically filed a Goods Declaration destined to M/S Karadeniz SPS in Melbourne Australia consisting of two containers through their authorized Clearing Agent and declared the description of the goods as salt. However, 47 KG Crystal Amphetamine (ICE) had been recovered in the containers during the inspection.   According to the declaration, $37796 worth of Himalayan pink salt was to be exported.

The FIR did not include the name of the absconding Humair Qureshi, however, his name was nominated in the interim challan after the investigation of the case.
