PO shot dead in Lahore police encounter

A proclaimed offender (PO) was gunned down during a police encounter in Lahore on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The encounter took place on Defence Road, and the deceased was identified as Asif.
Sources in the CCD Kahna said that when a police team raided a hideout to arrest him, other dacoits suddenly started firing on the police team.
When police opened fire in retaliation, the dacoit received serious injuries and died on the spot.
The Crime Control Department (CCD) team said that deceased was involved in more than 100 criminal cases.
Police also impounded a motorcycle and a pistol, which were being used in criminal activities, from his possession.
