September 12, 2022 01:48 AM

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has come down hard on the coalition government for what he called blocking the telethon for flood survivors.

Speaking during the fund-raising event, he said the federal government was doing 'political persecution' as they fear the people might give him credit for helping flood-hit people.

He said in the hour of need, political differences should be set aside for helping the countrymen who lost their dear ones, homes, belongs and awaiting help.

Similar steps will be taken to cope with the challenge that emerged after devastating floods across the country.

PTI chief said the country has been affected by the floods, claiming more 1,000 lives and injuring thousands.

The calamity inflicted a big damage upon the economy, he said, stressing the need for aid for relief and rehab of flood survivors.

He said the PTI has made a comprehensive plan to help the people of Sindh and Balochistan.

He said that the country would have to construct more dams to save people from such devastation in the future.

“The sole solution to prevent the catastrophes caused by flood is to construct dams.”

Senator Faisal Javed Khan moderated the event while Chief Ministers of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa  Parvez Elahi and Mahmood Khan, Sania Nishtar, celebrities, and other politicians joined Imran Khan’s telethon. Imran Khan is the only leader trusted by Pakistanis across the world, the PTI leaders said, claiming that more than five billion rupees were collected in just three hours.
