FBR to impose Rs1 million fine on tax-evaders

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to take stern action against those involved in tax evasion, reported 24 NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

According to details, Federal Board of Revenue will direct concerned authorities to disconnect electricity, gas connections of tax-evaders immediately while on the other hand their bank accounts will also be attached.

The tax-evaders will not be able to sale or purchase property and vehicles in the country.

Federal Board of Revenue announced to conduct audit of these tax evaders with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other measures to curb money laundering.

Sources said that these measures will be implemented on retailers of Tier-1 and manufacturers.

Federal Board of Revenue will take all these actions under income tax and sales tax laws.
