Nigerian national commits suicide in Lahore

A Nigerian man committed suicide by tying a rope around his neck and hanging himself in the washroom of a hostel in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The Edhi sources said that the incident occurred in the Sattu Katla area of Lahore.

Police said that the victim’s body was hanging from the aperture in the washroom of the hostel.

Police took custody of the dead body, and forensic teams collected evidence from the crime scene.

Police said that the Nigerian man was performing his duties as a sweeper in the hospital.

Police further said that they were investigating whether this was a case of murder or suicide.

A number of Nigerian nationals were also residing in the hostel. 

Further investigation was underway.

Man shot dead in Batapur

A young man was murdered spot when he tried to persuade three men in a market to reopen a road they had blocked.

The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Batapur Police Station in Lahore.

The deceased was identified as Imran Arif, who is a resident of Jallo Morr Sabzi Mandi.

According to police, the deceased asked Wajid, Irfan Imran, and Shakeel not to block the road, which led to a market. 

The police further said that the accused were constructing stairs opposite a market, which belonged to the victim, Imran.

During the exchange of harsh words, the accused opened fire on Imran, after which he died on the spot.

Later, the heirs of the deceased staged a protest demonstration at Jallo Morr, and after assurance from local police, the traffic was restarted after five hours.

All the accused escaped from the scene. Police shifted the dead body to a hospital’s mortuary for autopsy.

Police said that a clash also erupted between them one year before, when the accused tried to occupy the victim’s market.

The deceased also filed a first information report against the accused.
