ATC Islamabad issues notices in Khawar Maneka torture case

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad on Monday conducted a hearing of a case related to the alleged torture of Khawar Maneka during proceedings of the Nikah case during Iddat against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The hearing was presided over by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra. During the proceedings, PTI lawyers, including Fatahullah Burki and Zahid Bashir Dar, filed a petition seeking the removal of terrorism charges from the case.

Senior lawyer Dr Babar Awan appeared before the court on behalf of the PTI lawyers, while Sardar Muhammad Masroof Khan Advocate and others were also present.

The court issued notices on an application filed under Section 23 and directed all parties to present their arguments at the next hearing.

The case pertains to an FIR registered at Ramna Police Station against PTI lawyers over allegations of torturing Khawar Maneka.

After initial proceedings, the court adjourned further hearing of the case until April 16.
