FIA writes letter to Imran Khan, seeks details of all bank accounts
Summons record of all organizations which provided funds to PTI since 1996 till today: Wants details of those office-bearers who operate party accounts: PTI chairman, general secretary directed to provide all record within 15 days

The Federal Investigation Agency which is conducting a probe into PTI’s prohibited funding case on Saturday wrote a letter to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan seeking details of the bank accounts, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources revealed that the investigation agency asked PTI Chief Imran Khan to provide details regarding when did the party open these accounts. It also sought the annual statements of these accounts, a list of party office-bearers with their identity card numbers, and the list of those who operate party accounts.
The PTI chairman and general secretary have been directed to provide all the record within 15 days.
On Aug 5, the federal government directed the FIA to hold investigation into PTI’s prohibited funding case after the ECP verdict which declared that the party accepted funds from foreign donors in violation of political parties’ law.
The FIA constituted a five-member team to supervise the inquiry teams of FIA’s respective zones probing into the matter.
As per the FIA notification, the probe is being conducted under Section 6 of Political Parties Order, 2002. FIA’s additional director Khalid Anees, deputy director Khawaja Hammad, Chaudhary Ijaz Ahmed and assistant director Ijaz Ahmed Sheikh are members of the team that has been tasked with supervising the ongoing enquiries into PTI’s funding case.
The FIA initially investigated three employees of the PTI including Imran Khan’s personal secretary, party’s general manager finance department and another employee on Aug 5.
The agency has also summoned a number of PTI leaders including Asad Qaiser, Qasim Khan Suri, Mehmoodur Rashid, Imran Ismail and Dr Sima Zia for investigation.
