Fog shuts down four sections of motorway in Punjab

As fog has engulfed various parts of Punjab, the authorities have shut down four sections of the motorway on Tuesday evening to avoid any untoward accident, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the motorway police spokesperson, the Motorway (M-2) was closed from Lahore to Kot Momin.  

Lahore-Multan Motorway M 3 has been shut from Faizpur to Samundri and

Motorways M4 and M5 have also been closed to all kinds of traffic.

The spokesperson said that the sections of the motorway were closed due to heavy fog as visibility on the highways is very low.

The motorway police directed the motorists to look for alternate routes to get to their destinations as the motorways were closed for the safety of the public and to ensure safe travel. The officials also directed them to avoid traveling unnecessarily till the fog was over.

The motorway police also advised road users to contact helpline 130 for information and assistance.
