Babar Azam creates history with fastest 11,000 T20 runs

Pakistan’s cricket icon Babar Azam has set a new benchmark in T20 cricket by becoming the fastest batter to score 11,000 runs in the format. 

He achieved this remarkable milestone in just 298 innings, surpassing the previous record held by West Indies legend Chris Gayle, who reached the mark in 314 innings.

Babar crossed the 11,000-run mark during a T20 match against South Africa, where he secured the milestone with his 11th run of the innings. 

This achievement makes Babar the first player in the world to accomplish this feat in fewer than 300 innings.

The prolific Pakistani batter holds multiple records in T20 cricket, including being the fastest to reach 7,000, 9,000, 10,000, and now 11,000 runs.

Babar is also the second Pakistani and the 11th overall to reach the 11,000 T20 runs milestone. 

The former Pakistan skipper also joins an elite group of players, including Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales, Virat Kohli, David Warner, Jos Buttler, Rohit Sharma, Aaron Finch, and James Vince, who have achieved this landmark.

In addition to his T20 achievements, Babar has also crossed 14,000 runs in international cricket. He becomes only the fifth Pakistani batter to reach this milestone.
