February 13, 2021 06:20 PM

Punjab Boards Committee of Chairman has decided on the final dates for holding the matriculation and intermediate examinations, reported 24News HD TV Saturday.

According to the Committee’s decision, the matriculation examinations for all the educational boards in Punjab will be held from May 4.

Similarly, the intermediate examinations for all the educational boards in Punjab will be held from June 12.

Last year, the students got promoted to next classes without taking exams in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.

The coronavirus pandemic has played havoc all around the world and has greatly affected the educational activities. In Pakistan, too, the educational activities remained suspended for most of the educational year and a reduced syllabus has been coined with an extended session to overcome the syllabus backlog.

There were also suggestions to change the pattern of the examinations and include more Multiple Choice Questions than subjective questions for the examinations.

However, Inter Board Committee of Chairman in its meeting held on January 11, 2021 has decided against changing the pattern of the examinations for the matric and intermediate and decided to take the examinations with the same old pattern.

However, a more detailed decision and date sheets for the said exams are yet to be announced.

Earlier, Punjab School Education Minister Dr. Murad Raas on February 11 has announced that the Intermediate exams 2021 to be held across the province from August 15, 2021. However, the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairman has remained stick to the decision about the examination taken in the IBCC meeting to hold the said exams in May and June.
