PIA looking for new head as outgoing CEO declines to accept extension

The loss-making state entity, Pakistan International Airlines, has started looking for its new Chief Executive Officer after its outgoing head refuses to accept an extension in his tenure, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Sources informed 24News TV channel on Sunday that in a meeting of PIA’s board of directors it was decided that the outgoing CEO Arshad Malik would be granted an extension in his tenure. But when Mr Malik was offered extension, he declined to accept it. 

Sources informed that Mr Malik’s three-year tenure as PIA CEO is going to be expired on April 25. 

After his refusal, the PIA has started looking for new CEO as it has advertised the soon-to-be-vacant post. 

According to the eligibility criteria, the candidate must have a 20-year experience in the field of the civil aviation sector and he should also have a degree in aviation management and engineering sciences. He should not be younger than 42 years of age and not above 62-year-old. 

The candidates could submit their application till Feb 28.
