Army Chief says has not received any letter from anyone

Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has categorically denied receiving any letter from former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan on Thursday, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

Talking to a group of journalists at the end of the lunch given in honor of Turkish President at the Prime Minister's House in Islamabad on Thursday, Army Chief made it clear that, “he has not received any letter from anyone, if any letter is received, I will send it to the Prime Minister”. 

Referring to jailed former premier's 'open letters', the army chief said he would not "read it (letter) even if I receive it". 

General Asim Munir maintained that “he would forward any such communication to the prime minister if he received it”. 

He maintained that the country was moving on and Pakistan was on the path to development. “Pakistan is moving forward and Pakistan has to move forward,” the army chief added. 

According to PTI lawyers, former PM Imran Khan, who is behind the bars since August 2023 in dozens of cases, has penned third open letter to Gen Munir on February 13  (today). 

"The PTI founder, in his letter to the army chief, has raised the issue of giving preference to the minority over the majority through election fraud," his lawyer Faisal Chaudhry had said in a statement. 

Earlier, the 71-year-old cricketer-turned-politician said he had penned two "open letters" to the army chief on Feb 3 and Feb 8 .
