Punjab govt bans sale of 10 substandard medicines

The Government of Punjab has immediately imposed a ban on the sale of 10 substandard medicines in the province, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The Director-General Drug Control Programme issued an alert to all field drug inspectors to ensure a ban on the sale of these drugs.

According to the details, a batch of Escitalopram, a drug that reduces the risk of heart attacks, has also been declared unsafe.

The use of allergy medications Sepizine and rosin has been banned. Canadiens cream for treating skin infections is also declared harmful to health.

Eye disease was prevented by the use of drops called Nafin. Sterile Water for Injection PSOL 2 ml is also declared unusable. Injections Metrorise, Metrine, and Cetamin are also declared unusable. 

The DG directed the inspector remove all the stocks of the above-mentioned drugs from the pharmacies.
