PFA seals six food points in Lahore over poor hygiene

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Tuesday sealed six food points over non-compliance with authority’s rules and regulations in different areas of Lahore.
According to details, Director General of Punjab Food Authority Rfaqat Ali Nissoana said that Azad Sweets & Bakers was sealed in the area of Kacha Jail Road for selling expired food items and using rusted machinery.
Shoaib Bakers was sealed in Wagha Town for selling fungus infested food items and incomplete labelling. Ideal Sweets & Dahi Bhallay was sealed for keeping a stinky and broken deep freezer and having poor cleanliness arrangements. In Anarkali, Qasar-e-Shireen warehouse was sealed over the presence of mice waste and stinky conditions.
Furthermore, he said, Shwarma Point was sealed in Bahria Town over usage of loose spices and poor hygiene. Food safety teams sealed Butt Hotel after seeing cats in storage area as well as poor arrangements of cleanliness.
The PFA DG said that action was taken on violation of regulations. PFA is working day and night to curb adulteration.
