IHC orders NCCIA to decide on employee permanence cases within a month

Islamabad High Court has ordered NCCIA to decide on employee permanence cases within a month, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

Hearing the case, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked that it is expected that the court order will be implemented by making rules within a month. 

Justice Kayani said that NCCIA was a newly-created institution which has fell prey to someone’s evil eye. 

The Court observed that as long as the matter is in court, no decision should be taken regarding the employees that would affect them. NCCIA Director Admin and officers of the Legal Department appeared in court. Why has the decision on the permanent status of the employees not been taken, what is the reason? Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani questioned NCCIA legal team. 

National Cybercrime Investigation Agency  legal team told the court that the rules have been sent to the cabinet for approval. The cabinet has not yet approved it, due to which the issue of permanence is being delayed. The officials added that since the issue is in the cabinet, a 30-day deadline should be given. 

Justice Kayani said remarked that if the matter was not resolved within a month, the court will call the concerned secretaries and ask them what is the reason for the delay. 

Later the court adjourned the hearing till February 21.
