Multi-storey building in Shikarpur's Sarafa Bazaar catches fire

A massive fire broke out today at the Kashif Departmental Store located in Sarafa Bazaar, Shikarpur, causing damages estimated at over Rs20 million, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to the police and fire brigade officials, a three-storey building caught fire due to a short circuit in the solar system.

According to SEPCO, the blaze, which started on the upper floors, began moving downward, prompting fears of its spread toward Dhak Bazaar, a nearby commercial area.

Fire brigade crews immediately arrived at the scene and began efforts to control the fire. 

However, sealed access points and surrounding closures posed challenges to their operation. Additional fire tenders have been called in to intensify efforts.

Emergency teams remain at the location, trying to prevent further escalation. No casualties have been reported so far.
