Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce 'a perfect match'
As Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce approach the two-year mark in their high-profile romance, the NFL star’s longtime friend and Modern Family actor Eric Stonestreet has offered his full support for the couple, calling their relationship a 'perfect match'.
Speaking to Page Six at the premiere of Dexter: Resurrection in New York this week, Stonestreet, 53, praised Kelce as “awesome” and said he was “so happy” when the Kansas City Chiefs tight end began dating Swift.
“I’ve known Travis for a long time,” said the Kansas-born actor. “I was so happy for him when they started dating because I know him. The Grammy winner deserves a great guy, and Travis is a great guy.”
While joking about possibly receiving an invite to a future wedding, Stonestreet humbly added, “It would obviously be amazing if that happened, but I wouldn’t want to go if it wasn’t the right thing. I wouldn’t want to force my way in there.”

Swift, 34, and Kelce, 34, confirmed their relationship publicly in September 2023 when the pop star was spotted cheering on the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. However, in an earlier Time interview, Swift revealed they had started dating “a few months” before that public debut, crediting Kelce’s podcast shoutout as the sweet start of their connection.
The singer told the magazine, “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
Stonestreet, who is a diehard Chiefs fan, has often been spotted at games and even attended the team’s Super Bowl win in 2023. Reflecting on the couple’s dynamic, he said, “I thought, here’s a confident dude who’s not going to be intimidated by her, and she’s obviously at the top of her game, so she’s not going to be intimidated by him. They aren’t competing with each other, it’s a great match.”
Their nearly two-year journey has included over 20 public NFL appearances by Swift, romantic getaways to Montana’s exclusive Yellowstone Club, and quiet lunches in Kelce’s hometown of Cleveland Heights. Most recently, the couple marked the Fourth of July together and made surprise appearances at events, including Swift’s impromptu performance in Nashville.
