Eight-year-old boy dies after falling into sewage drain in Faisalabad

An eight-year-old boy died after falling into a sewage drain while playing in the Ghulamabad area of Faisalabad on Monnday, rescue officials said.

The victim, identified as Sohail, was playing near the drain when he reportedly slipped and fell into the open sewer.

Rescue teams were called to the scene and launched a search operation to recover the child.

After a rescue operation, personnel retrieved the boy from the drain and shifted him to a nearby hospital.

Doctors pronounced the child dead, rescue officials said.

The body was handed over to the family after the completion of necessary legal formalities.

The incident sparked grief among family members and residents of the area.
