Islamic University students protest against forced eviction from hostels
Members of the Students Action Committee of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) on Monday staged a sit-in against their forced eviction from hostels, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The students complained that they were being asked to vacate the hostels without being allotted any alternative accommodation.
They said that the university management issued them notices to vacate hostels no. 1, 2, and 3. They said that they would vacate the hostels when they were allotted new ones.
The university management said that when the students will vacate the hostels, then they will allot them new accommodation.
The students said that they will go with their luggage to obtain new allotment letters.
They threatened to continue their sit-in in favour of their demands. The students said that they vacated the hostels six months ago for maintenance, and asked how the management can complete maintenance of three hostels in one month.
