Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments will present the provincial budgets for the next fiscal year today (Monday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The outlay of the Punjab budget would be RS36.26trillion while like the federal budget the Punjab government employees will also get a 15percent pay raise. The development budget for Punjab Capital Lahore has been earmarked as Rs60billion.

Provincial minister Awais Leghari will present Punjab’s budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 as differences have developed between the PML-N and PPP on the allocation of important ministries, causing the non-appointment of the finance minister.

Punjab chief minister Hamza Shahbaz has directed Awais Leghari to present the budget for 2022-23 as finance minister. The Punjab finance department has sent the budget speech to Awais Leghari.

The Punjab government will unveil the Punjab Budget tomorrow for the fiscal year 2022-23 with a total outlay of around Rs 3 trillion.

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz says no burden will be put on the poor people in the coming budget and steps will be taken to address the difficulties of the common man.

In a statement in Lahore, he said the focus of the provincial budget for next fiscal year will be on providing maximum relief to the masses in the present difficult circumstances.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) have finalised strategy regarding the upcoming Punjab Assembly session for budget 2022-23.

A joint session of PTI and PML-Q’s parliamentary parties was held under the chair of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Usman Buzdar and Sibtain Khan on Sunday. The session was also attended by Mahmoodur Rasheed, Dr Yasmin Rashid, Raja Basharat, Aslam Iqbal and other lawmakers. The opposition lawmakers condemned the registration of cases and arrests of the leaders.

It has been decided to table a resolution in the Punjab Assembly against blasphemous remarks delivered by India’s ruling party BJP and lodge a strong protest.

On the other hand, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will also present the provincial budget for the next fiscal year tomorrow.

The budget session of the provincial assembly will start at 3:00 pm in Peshawar.

The KP government has prepared a budget with a Rs379.99billion development programme while about Rs70billion have been proposed for the development of the merged tribal districts.

The KP government will complete 2128 development projects with its own resources while Rs25billion have been specified for the Insaf Sehat Card and Rs1b for the polio eradication in the Southern districts of the province.
