India, Pakistan set for high-voltage Women’s T20 World Cup opener on Sunday

Pakistan Women’s cricket team will begin its ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign tomorrow (Sunday) with a high-profile clash against arch-rivals India at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.

The match marks the start of Pakistan’s journey in what is being described as the biggest edition in the history of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Organised by the England and Wales Cricket Board, the tournament is being held from June 12 to July 5 and features an expanded format for the first time, with 12 teams competing for the title.

A total of 33 matches will be played across seven venues, while the final is scheduled to take place on July 5 at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

Pakistan have been placed in Group 1, where they face a challenging lineup that includes six-time champions Australia, along with India, South Africa, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands.
