Speedy car crushes two women in Islamabad

A woman lost her life and another was critically wounded when a speedy car crushed them in Islamabad on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The incident took place near Zia Masjid in the jurisdiction of Khana Police Station in Islamabad.

The dead woman was identified as Nazima who was 40. Soon after receiving the report a police team rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and injured women to hospital.

The driver of the vehicle escaped from the scene soon after the accident.

Police started legal proceedings.

On Friday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) former senator Taj Muhammad Afridi lost his life in a road accident on the Kernal Sher Khan Interchange on M-1 Motorway.

The incident took place when the senator was travelling to Peshawar from the federal capital. His driver sustained injuries in the accident, and he has been shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Reports said the incident occurred due to a mechanical fault in the vehicle.
