Pakistan-Bangladesh ODI marred by controversial run-out of Salman Agha

The second ODI of the three-match series between Pakistan and Bangladesh on Friday was overshadowed by a controversial incident involving Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan, leaving players and spectators debating sportsmanship on the field, 24NewsHD TV reported.

The unusual episode took place in the 39th over of Pakistan’s innings.

Pakistani batter Mohammad Rizwan played a straight defensive shot off Mehidy Hasan’s delivery, which deflected off the bowler’s feet and remained live.

At the non-striker’s end, Salman Ali Agha had stepped out of his crease.

Attempting to return the ball to the bowler, Salman tried to pick it up.

However, the Bangladeshi captain reacted swiftly, took the ball, and dislodged the bails before Salman could make it back to the crease.

The third umpire was consulted, and after reviewing the play, Salman Ali Agha was declared run out.

The dismissal sparked visible anger from Salman Ali Agha as he returned to the pavilion.

Bangladesh wicketkeeper Litton Das also appeared displeased with the decision.

 However, Mohammad Rizwan, the on-field umpires, and other players intervened to calm the situation, helping to diffuse tensions before the game continued.
