Punjab govt initiates holy Quran teaching programme without ‘preparation’

November 13, 2021 04:43 PM

Punjab government’s programme to teach holy Quran to school students has hit a snag right at the very beginning as there are not enough siparas for over 30 million children studying at province’s both private and government schools, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Punjab Scholars Union President Akram Syal has said School Education Department has started the project without any preparation. “And since it is impossible for any publisher to provide 30 million siparas at such a short notice, therefore, the government of Punjab is requested to make another timetable for the purpose,” he said.

The School Education Department, on the other hand, has said talks are underway with different publishers for the provision of such a large number of copies of the holy book.
