Five killed as rocket-launchers used in Shikarpur tribal clash

Five people were killed in a clash between two tribes in Bachani village of Shikarpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

According to the police, the clash started when some men, belonging to Badani tribe, fired rocket launchers at a house belonging to a member of Shar tribe.

Consequently, five people who were present inside the home at the time of the attack namely Abdul Khaliq Shar, owner of the house, his two sons Khalid Shar and Raja Shar, one brother Abdus Sattar Shar and one guest Abdul Jabbar Shar died on the spot.

Police said that the incident was the consequence of an old enmity between these two tribes.

The bodies had been shifted to a hospital, the Force said, adding the situation in the area was tense.

Taking notice of the incident, SSP Shikarpur Shahzeb Chachar sent a large police contingent to the area.

Police kill two dacoits

On the other hand, police in Chak Kacha killed two dacoits, belonging to Badani Jatoi gang.

According to the SSP Shikarpur, the police encircled an area and started search operation after receiving information about the presence of dacoits. “On seeing the cops, the dacoits opened fire at them. This led to an exchange of fire between the two sides. Consequently, two dacoits were shot dead,” Chachar elaborated.

The SSP made it clear to the outlaws to either turn themselves into the police or get ready to die.

He also stated categorically that no one will be allowed to take the law into his own hands.
