Indian local cricketer dies of heart attack after winning match

A tragic incident occurred in India’s Uttar Pradesh state where a local cricketer passed away, reportedly from a heart attack, moments after leading his team to victory in a local tournament.

According to Indian media, the incident took place on Sunday during a match organized by the Uttar Pradesh Veterans Cricket Association between teams from Moradabad and Sambhal.

In a thrilling finish, Sambhal needed 14 runs from the final four balls to win the match.

Moradabad’s senior left-arm fast bowler, Ahmar Khan, delivered a brilliant final over, helping his team clinch victory by 11 runs.

However, the celebrations quickly turned to shock and grief as Ahmar Khan suddenly collapsed on the pitch immediately after bowling the last delivery.

Eyewitnesses reported that Khan appeared to have difficulty breathing, sat down on the pitch, and then lost consciousness.

A doctor present at the ground immediately began administering CPR, and the player was rushed to a nearby hospital by ambulance, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Local media described Ahmar Khan as a well-known figure in Moradabad’s cricketing circles.

He had been an active participant in veterans’ cricket for several years and was admired for his dedication, sportsmanship, and passion for the game.
