Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed's addressing to the full court reference said the motives behind Bar Councils' protest against the appointment of judges was unclear. The presidents of the Bar Councils were invited several times for the appointment of judges but they were in Peshawar. Bar Councils took a one-sided stance on judges’ appointments. JCP said that doors for Bar Councils are always open.

Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) addressing the full court reference said that gaps widened between Bar and Bench on the judge's appointment. Many people lost their jobs due to a decision by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. 

Inter-Provincial Ministers conference will be held today to decide about reopening of schools or further closure of educational institutions. 

As per the unofficial results, PTTI won 63 seats, Independent 59 and PPP 17, MQM 10, Jamaat-e-Islami 7, Balochistan Awami Party and Awami National Party won two seats each in Contentment Boards local bodies’ elections. 

PMLN clean sweep in Punjab cantonment board results. PMLN won 51 seats, independent won 31 while PTI won 28 seats. 

A joint session of Parliament will be held at 4 pm. President Arif Alvi will address the session. COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa and chiefs of Air Force and Navy will also attend the joint sitting. Parliament security is divided into four zones and irrelevant persons are not allowed in the Red Zone. 

The journalists’ sit-in outside the parliament house continued on the second consecutive day against the proposed Pakistan Media Development Authority (PMDA). Bilawal Bhutto, Shehbaz Shari, Maulana Fazl will visit the sit-in site to show solidarity. PPP Shazia Marri said PPP will not let PMDA bill a successful.

Corona killed 67 more patients in the country. 2,988 new cases were reported in 24 hours. The rate of positive corona cases in the country was 5.62%.

UN Relief conference to be held in Geneva today to save Afghanistan from a humanitarian crisis. More than $600 million will be raised for Afghanistan. One-third of the money will be used under the United Nations World Food Program.

A Sessions Court in Lahore granted interim bail to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) MPA Khurrum Laghari in lieu of surety Rs50, 000 following Amina Yaqub, the petitioner, pardoned the MPA.

A delegation of the German Navy visited the Karachi port onboard a ship, FGS Byren, in order to renew the 70-year-old relationship between the two countries. Later members of the delegation visited the Quaid’s mausoleum and laid a floral wreath there. Naval forces of both the countries also carried out joint exercises on the occasion.

Sindh Education Department has decided to terminate the services of its officers wanted by NAB in connection with different corruption cases. In this connection, the department has sought the list of such officers, from grade-17 to grade-20. Provincial Minister Sardar Ali Shah has directed that dutiful officers be appointed on these posts.

After a record drop of Rs1, 000 in the prices of cotton in just one week, each maund of cotton now costs Rs13, 500. People associated with cotton cultivation say decrease in the prices was notice following the import of cotton in bulk.
