Bengali Pohela Boishakh 1433 celebrated with festive joy all over Bangladesh!

On the occasion of Pohela Boishakh 1433, the first day of the Bengali New Year, Pahela Boishakh, is being celebrated with day-long festivities throughout the capital Dhaka and other parts of Bangladesh. The traditional New Year's celebration, Boishakhi procession, folk performances and concerts have all been combined to celebrate this year's New Year.

In the early hours of Pohela Boishakh, the Bengali New Year began with a performance by the cultural organization Chhayanaut at Ramna Batamul in the capital Dhaka. After that, a colorful Boishakhi procession started from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University at 11 am.

At the same time, a separate event called 'Mangal Shobhajatra', which is based on the Bengali tradition and the main idea of the procession, was organized by the Pohela Boishakh Board from the Dhanmondi area of the capital Dhaka.

A special event for Pohela Boishakh has been organized at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy premises at the national level.  A five-day folk festival and fair has been organized here from 1 to 5 Baishakh. Dhakdhol, Lathikhela, Jari, Sari, Gambhira, Bhawaiya, Puthipath, Jatrapala and performances by small ethnic groups are being held here. Orchestra, Dhamail dance and Jatrapala are being staged on the opening day.

From this morning, people can be seen visiting the Shahbagh, Ramna, TSC areas of the capital Dhaka, and the presence of people increases as the day progresses. Young people dressed in red and white clothes are walking around in groups. Many are taking pictures in traditional designs, while some are busy taking selfies. Many people have also been seen writing 'Shubh Nabobarsh' on their cheeks with colored ink around the Dhaka Institute of Fine Arts.

Five main motifs have been specially featured in this year's Baishakhi procession. These include - rooster, dotara, pigeon, elephant and horse.  These are presented as symbols of strength, creativity, peace, glory, and dynamism, respectively.
