Pakistani envoy refutes rumours of receiving illegal money for visas in Afghanistan
Pakistan's Ambassador to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan Saturday clarified that no illegal money was being collected in the head of visa and consular services.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Pakistan’s ambassador issued a statement from Kabul on Saturday and clarified the position.
The Pakistani diplomate said that the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul was providing consular and visa services to Pakistani citizens, Afghans and citizens of other countries.
Mansoor said the Pakistani embassy was also in touch with the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and Pakistani authorities to operate additional flights to Pakistan.
Yesterday, Pakistan announced to relax its visa policy for saving the lives of foreign journalists and other citizens included Pakistanis stranded in Afghanistan.
This announcement was made by Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad and said that Pakistan had decided to relax its visa policy for journalists and media workers stranded in Afghanistan keeping in view the changing situation in the neighbour country.
Sheikh Rasheed announced that the international journalists and media workers who wanted to leave Afghanistan via Pakistan were urged to apply for a Pakistani visa.
He ensured the foreign journalists and media workers that the Interior Ministry of Pakistan would issue visas to the international media persons on a priority basis.
The federal minister said that the announcement of the visa waiver by Pakistan was being made in view of the safety of journalists and media workers working in Afghanistan.
