Islamabad United beat Karachi Kings in the 21st match of the ongoing seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Monday.
Islamabad United set a big target of 192 for Karachi Kings. Shadab Khan was the top scorer of Islamabad United - 34 runs in 26 balls - before getting bowled out by Imad Wasim.
Asif Ali and Faheem Ashraf also scored blistering innings, Asif scored 28 while Faheem scored 29.
Imad Wasim was the standout bowler for the Kings as he took two wickets for 30 in four overs.
The Babar Azam-led Karachi Kings were under extreme pressure as it was a must-win game for them.
Islamabad United lost to the Quetta Gladiators in their last match while the Kings lost to Peshawar Zalmi in their last match.
In the points table, Islamabad United cemented themselves to the third spot, pocketing three victories and losing three games. Karachi Kings, on the other hand, continued to lose as they have now been defeated by the oppositions for six successive times.
