17 vacant posts of judges at LHC: Judicial Commission to discuss fresh appointments on Feb 28

A meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) will be held on February 28 to discuss appointment of additional judges to 17 vacant posts of judges at the Lahore High Court (LHC). 

According to a notification issued by the LHC registrar, Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi will preside over the judicial commission meeting, which will take place at 2:00 PM on February 28. 

At the judicial commission meeting, names of eight district and sessions judges will be considered for appointment as additional judges to the LHC. The judicial commission has sent a summary of these judges’ names to its members.

Following are the names of these judges: District and Sessions Judges Raja Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Qaiser Nazir Butt, Muhammad Akmal Khan, Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, Jazeela Aslam, Tariq Mahmood Bajwa, Shahida Saeed and Abher Gul Khan, who is currently working as registrar at the Lahore High Court.
