Earthquake hits Islamabad, parts of KP and GB

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake hit Islamabad, Gilgit-Balistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
Strong tremors were felt in Peshawar, Malakand, Swat, Mardan, Swabi, Shangla, Buner, Bajaur, and adjacent areas. No casualties have been reported so far.
The magnitude of the earthquake in Gilgit-Baltistan was recorded at 5.6 and its depth 100km. The epicentre of the quake is stated to be Afghanistan-Tajikistan border. The tremor triggered panic among the people who came out of their home praying for their safety.
Reportedly, a 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck Peshawar, Swat, Lower Dir, Swabi, Nowshera, Chitral and surrounding areas a couple of weeks ago.
