First of Safar likely to fall on July 16, says Met Office
The Met Office on Tuesday said that the first of Safar was most likely to fall on July 16 (Thursday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
It said that chances were brighter that the Safar moon would be sighted across the country, including Sindh, in the evening of July 15.
It further said that a new moon would be born at 2:43 PM on July 14, which would be 29 hours and one minute old at the time of sunset on July 15.
The Met Office said that people in Karachi would be able to view the moon by 8:28 PM on July 15.
It said that partly cloudy weather had been forecast for most parts of the country during next two to three days.
Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will make the final announcement in this regard.
