Two more cases of dengue virus reported from Faisalabad


Dengue virus was detected in two patients who were under treatment in Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, and two cases of monkeypox were also reported, taking the dengue cases tally to eight and monkeypox to 17 during the current year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to doctors, all the patients were immediately shifted to the isolation ward of the Allied Hospital.
Health authorities in Faisalabad are continuing efforts to contain the spread of infectious diseases after a patient undergoing treatment at Allied Hospital-I was confirmed to have dengue fever, adding to concerns over the presence of both dengue and monkeypox cases in the city.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the dengue patient and a monkeypox patient have been transferred to an isolation ward, where they are receiving medical care and treatment under close supervision.
Health officials said precautionary measures have been implemented to prevent further transmission of the disease.
With the latest diagnosis, the number of dengue patients reported at Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, this year has risen to six. Hospital records also show that 16 confirmed monkeypox cases have been reported at the facility so far during the current year.
