Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sherani group on Monday announced the alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The head of JUI Sherani Group Maulana Khan Sherani along with a 25-member delegation called on former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

According to sources, the political situation in the country was discussed during the meeting.

The two parties agreed to formulate a political and electoral strategy in consultation with each other.

On this occasion, Maulana Khan Muhammad Sherani said that the struggle against Islamophobia is one of the commonalities, adding that oppression and hypocrisy must be eradicated from society and politics.

On the occasion, Imran Khan said that he welcomes the leaders and elders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, adding that the struggle to achieve lofty goals is a feature of politics.

Imran Khan said that PTI is striving for higher political and social goals beyond traditional politics, adding that scholars should go ahead and do their duty to lead the nation in the right direction.
