Pakistan, IMF to hold more talks: Minister

Minister of State for Finance Aisha Ghaus Pasha on Wednesday said that there would be more talks between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

She said both sides had virtual discussions yesterday. “The Fund has sought from us details of tax targets we have set,” she said, adding, “The IMF has also asked us to share with it our plans for the power sector.”

The minister said IMF’s board meeting was held thrice in a week.

Although the coalition government has been saying for the past one year that it is close to striking a deal with the international money lending organization, but all its claims have turned out to be false.  

Resultantly, it wastes no time in passing on the buck to the PTI government, its predecessor.
