Four civilians injured after Pakistan military shot down few Afghan drones: ISPR

As many as four people including two children were injured due to the falling debris of the rudimentary drones shot down by the Pakistan military after they were launched by the Afghan Taliban, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to an ISPR statement released on Saturday morning, the Afghan Taliban launched few rudimentary drones on 13 March, 2026, to harass the brave people of Pakistan. These drones were intercepted through soft-and-hard kills, and they could not reach their intended targets.

The falling debris from these drones resulted in injuries to two children in Quetta and one civilian each in Kohat and Rawalpindi.

These attacks were aimed at inducing fear in the public and reminding us of the terrorist mindset which drives the Afghan Taliban, the ISPR statement said and added on the one hand, the Afghan Taliban project victimhood to garner global sympathy, while on the other hand, they actively target civilians through their terrorist proxies and their drones. 

The ISPR said Pakistan's people and its Armed Forces are absolutely clear about the true nature and intentions of the terrorist militia-for-hire that rules Afghanistan.

Pakistan's Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq shall continue till the Afghan Taliban address Pakistan's core concern with respect to terrorism originating from Afghan soil.

Pakistan’s Armed Forces stand steadfast in the fight against terrorism and its manifestations, like the drone attacks by Afghan Taliban, the ISPR said and added “We shall keep defending the people of Pakistan against terrorists and their facilitators and shall not flinch in the face of such provocations by the Afghan Taliban.”

Earlier on Friday, security sources said rudimentary drones were intercepted at different locations adjacent to Rawalpindi but were successfully brought down through electronic countermeasures.

Security sources said that no damage or casualties were reported and the airspace, which was temporarily closed as a precaution, had been reopened later.

Separately, the Ministry of Information posted on X that “two rudimentary drones of terrorist Fitna al-Khawarij, nurtured by the Afghan Taliban regime, were successfully intercepted by the Pakistan security forces using electronic countermeasures”.

It added that “no military or other infrastructure was hit, other than minor damage due to debris of the forced crashing of drones”, dismissing claims made in a post by the Afghan defence ministry on X. 

It was claimed in the post that a centre of Pakistan’s military had been targeted at Faizabad, resulting in the loss of human lives, as well as material losses.

The information ministry said: “The Taliban regime’s claim includes no verifiable evidence as always. However, [it] fully exposes its established role as master proxy of terrorism harbouring and supporting multiple terrorist organisations such as Indian proxies Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.”

Fitna al-Khawarij is a term the state uses for terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan while Fitna al-Hindustan is a term designated by the state for terrorist organisations in Balo­chistan.

The information ministry further stated: “The Taliban regime’s official accounts, including this so-called Ministry of Defence account, are known to regularly proliferate fake news and propaganda, including recent frivolous claims of shooting down Pakistan Air Force aircraft and capturing pilots, which they unashamedly later deleted.”
