The Punjab government has planned to close 254 Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Partner Schools in the province.

According to details, a proposal has come up to close PEF Schools that are situated within a kilometre of other government schools and students of all PEF schools will be shifted to nearby government schools

This development has come after a survey report which has revealed that all the level of education and infrastructure in all 254 PEF partner schools across Punjab and the nearest government schools are equal so the government plans to save public funds by closing PEF schools.
