Two dacoits gunned down in Shikarpur encounter

As many as two dacoits were killed and their remaining colleagues escaped from the scene during a police encounter in Shikarpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jahanzeb Chahar said that the incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Gaheja Police Station near Araian Link Road, Shikarpur.

SSP Shikarpur said that the dead dacoit Jahangir son of Aftab Mangrio was trying to flee after kidnapping a citizen.

The SSP with the support of Gaheja Police station established different blockades in the area and started chasing the dacoits.

After taking notice of police team, the dacoits started firing on them.

In retaliation by the police two dacoits died on the spot while the kidnapped citizen was rescued. 

Later, the dacoits fled away from the scene taking advantage of darkness. The police is using drone cameras for arrest of fleeing dacoits.

The police constituted special teams to arrest the culprits. SSP Jahanzaib Chahar lauded police team for showing outstanding performance.
