PIMS Hospital’s young doctors postpone protest for 2-week

The young doctors protests at the federal government’s PIMS Hospital in Islamabad has been postponed for 2 weeks following negotiations, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

According to the Young Doctors Association, they were staging protest on a daily basis, however, after negotiations with the relevant authorities, it has been decided to stop the protest for the time being. 

Young Doctors Association claimed that the young doctors were protesting against the recent increase in the prices of petroleum products as inflation has severely affected the public as well as doctors. 

According to doctors, due to rising expenses, it is not clear whether to treat patients or meet their household expenses. 

The Young Doctors Association demanded an immediate and fundamental increase in salaries from the government, saying that it has become impossible for the white-clad class to live in the storm of inflation. They warned that if the demands are not accepted, the scope of the protest will be further expanded after two weeks.
