Another Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader is on the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) radar as the bureau goes ahead with its scrutiny of party leaders’ assets, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Sources told 24News that the anti-corruption watchdog had now launched an investigation against PML-N leader Sohail Shaukat Butt in assets beyond sources of income case.
It has been learnt that on receiving the complaints, the NAB headquarters has forwarded the case to its Lahore office.
Sources added that not only Sohail, but the assets of his mother, wife, brother and sister had also come under the scanner.
They told 24News that the bureau had approached monetary organisations to seek details of properties registered in Sohail’s as well as his family members’ names so that the genuineness of complaints could be verified.
The anti-corruption watchdog has sought from these departments record of PML-N leader’s commercial, residential, agricultural and industrial properties.
Sources explained besides that the NAB was also interested in knowing how much property Sohail and his family had inherited, what were the details of transactions made by the family and how many gifts it had received.
Only two days ago, on October 14, 24News had reported that the NAB had launched probe against PML-N leader and former Punjab education minister Rana Mashhood in assets beyond sources of income case.
