Dollar, pound, euro up in inter-bank trading
All the major currencies grew stronger against the rupee in inter-bank exchange rate with the euro being the biggest gainer on the start of new week.
The US dollar, which had shed 43 paisas during the last session, was up by 20 paisas and closed at 166.17. Similarly, the euro gained 74 paisas and the pound sterling 61 paisas while their exchange rates recorded at Rs197.18 and Rs213.61 respectively.
However, the situation was different in an open market where the dollar was down by 10 paisas and the pound by Rs1. Their respective exchange rates stood at Rs166.30 and Rs215.
However, the euro managed a gain of 50 paisas in open market too where it was traded for Rs197.50.
