Sept 30 new deadline to exchange heavy prize bonds

September 14, 2021 04:42 PM

The government has set a new deadline of September 30 to exchange heavy prize bonds worth Rs40,000, Rs25,000 and Rs15,000, after which they will not be exchanged, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Citizens have appealed to the government for extension of the deadline.

People involved in the bond market are worried about the expiration of high-value bonds.

Bonds dealers urged the government to allow trading of Rs75000 bond at least as stoppage of high-value bonds has virtually ended the bond market.

Only 15 days left and there are still Rs72 billion bonds which needed to be exchanged before the bonds expired.

Rs40,000 unregistered prize bonds worth Rs1.27 billion, Rs25,000 prize bonds worth Rs4.42 billion, Rs15,000 prize bonds worth Rs32 billion and Rs7,500 prize bonds worth Rs40.09 billion are yet to be exchanged from the banks.
