Sir Anwar Pervez declared Pakistan’s richest man

The list of Pakistan’s wealthiest business tycoons has been made public, with Bestway Group founder Sir Anwar Pervez emerging as the country’s richest businessman, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a report by the Economic Policy and Business Development think tank on Friday, the total investments of Pakistan’s leading corporate groups are at the top with $3.62 billion.

Fauji Foundation ranks second with investments worth $2.25 billion, followed by the Tabeer Group at $1.88 billion, the report said, adding that in fourth place is Pakistan Tobacco Company with $1.18 billion, while Mir Shakilur Rahman’s Ibrahim Group holds fifth position with $1 billion in investments.

The Aga Khan Group ranks sixth with $954 million, followed by Mian Mansha at $920 million.

The Packages Group, led by Syed Babar Ali, is valued at $1.6 billion, placing it among the country’s wealthiest corporate entities.

Other notable names in the billionaire list include Fawad Mukhtar of Fatima Group, Gohar Ejaz of Lake City Holdings with $2.5 billion, Sardar Yasin Malik, Habibullah Khan, Sheikh Muhammad Javed, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Bashir Jan Muhammad, Mian Aamir Mehmood, Nasreen Kasuri, Jahangir Tareen, and Aleem Khan.

The report also highlights the business valuations of several other prominent groups: Dawood Group at $2.39 billion, Meezan Group at $2.38 billion, Arif Habib Group at $1.57 billion, Attock Group at $1.35 billion, Sapphire Group at $1.2 billion, and House of Habib at $1.17 billion.

According to the think tank, Pakistan currently has 40 billionaire business families, with 35 of them emerging over the past 50 years. Despite changing market dynamics, legacy names like Syed Babar Ali, Habib Rafiq, Hussain Dawood, and the Tariq Saigol Group remain in the ranks of Pakistan’s billionaire elite. The report also included the ranking of Pakistan’s 20 largest publicly listed companies.
