PIA to operate flights to Saudi tourist city of Abha

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is all set to operate flights for Saudi Arabia’s tourist city Abha from the first week of January, reported 24News HD TV channel on Tuesday. 

The national carrier sought permission from the General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia.

The PIA flights will be operated from Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore and Islamabad International Airport.

It is pertinent to note that Abha is the capital of Asir Region in Saudi Arabia. It is situated 2,270 metres (7,450 feet) above sea level in the fertile Asir Mountains of south-western Saudi Arabia, near Asir National Park. Abha's mild climate makes it a popular tourist destination for Saudis
